The Windows clipboard only remembers one thing at a time. The moment you copy something new, whatever was there before is gone. Anyone who works with text, images, or files all day runs into this constantly: you copy a paragraph, then need an address you copied two minutes ago, and it has already been overwritten.

Gwen is a lightweight clipboard manager that runs quietly in the system tray and remembers everything you copy on Windows, text, images, files, and even hex color codes. Press a global hotkey, by default Ctrl+Shift+V, and a small popup opens right next to your cursor, showing your recent copies newest-first.

Managing your history is as simple as picking an entry: click it, press Enter, or hit a number key 1 through 9, and Gwen writes that item back to the clipboard and pastes it straight into whatever window you were working in, no manual paste step required.

Modeled on the same idea as Maccy on macOS, Gwen doesn't try to be a note-taking suite or a sync service. It does one job, does it quickly, and keeps everything on your own machine, with a small SQLite database storing your history locally.

Start typing in the popup and the list filters live to matching items, so managing even a long history means never scrolling through dozens of old entries to find the one you need. Smart duplicate detection keeps the list clean by avoiding repeated identical entries.

Your clipboard history is stored only on your own PC. Nothing is uploaded or synced anywhere, Gwen's only network call is a one-time license check. Developers copying snippets, commands, and error messages; writers and editors juggling quotes and references; designers pulling hex colors and image assets; support and admin staff pasting the same canned responses and details repeatedly; researchers collecting excerpts from many sources; and anyone on Windows who copies and pastes enough that losing a clip is a daily annoyance all find the same underlying capability useful. Under the hood, a background thread checks Windows' clipboard-change counter a few times a second, and only reads what changed when that counter actually moves, which is what keeps the whole thing feeling instant rather than sluggish, however long it's been quietly running in your system tray.

1. Install Gwen on your Windows PC.
2. Let it run quietly in the system tray, watching your clipboard.
3. Copy text, images, files, or hex colors as you normally would.
4. Press Ctrl+Shift+V to open the popup near your cursor.
5. Type to filter your history live if you're looking for something specific.
6. Click, press Enter, or hit a number key to select an entry.
7. Watch it paste automatically into your previous window.
8. Delete individual entries anytime you want to tidy up your history.
9. Check the About section for version info and updates.
10. Use Change License if you ever need to re-activate.
