💾 Installation Guide

TurboSoft apps are lightweight and designed for a simple setup. Follow these steps:

Purchase & Download — Buy from Gumroad. Download the ZIP file from the Gumroad confirmation email or your Gumroad dashboard.

Extract the ZIP — Right-click the ZIP file and select "Extract All". Extract to any folder on your computer. Do not run the app directly from inside the ZIP.

Open the Folder — Open the extracted folder and locate the application executable (.exe file).

Launch the App — Double-click the .exe to run. If Windows SmartScreen appears, click "More info" then "Run anyway" — this is normal for newly downloaded software.

Activate — Enter your license key when the activation window appears. See the section below for full activation steps.
Important: Always fully extract the ZIP before running. Running the .exe from inside the ZIP without extracting can cause errors or missing file issues.
🔑 License Activation Help

TurboSoft apps require a one-time license activation on first launch. Your license key is emailed to you by Gumroad immediately after payment.

  • Open the app — the License Activation Window appears automatically on first launch
  • Enter the email address used during the Gumroad purchase
  • Enter the license key exactly as received — no extra spaces before or after
  • Ensure your device has an active internet connection during this step only
  • Click Activate License — verification completes instantly if the details are correct
Once activated: No repeated activation is needed for regular use. All subsequent use is 100% offline — no internet required.

🔧 Common Troubleshooting Steps

Try these steps before contacting support — they resolve most common issues:

  • Extract the ZIP fully — never run the app from inside an unextracted ZIP archive
  • Check antivirus / Windows Defender — verify the executable has not been quarantined or blocked
  • Run from a writable location — avoid read-only folders or system-protected directories like Program Files
  • Restart the application — close completely and reopen
  • Check internet during activation — internet is only needed for the one-time license activation, not for processing
  • Check available disk space — ensure enough storage for output files when converting large image batches
  • Verify output folder permissions — your Windows account must have write access to the selected output folder
  • Test with a small batch first — if large batches fail, try 10–20 images to isolate whether it is a file-specific issue
  • Check for corrupted source files — a single corrupted image in a batch may trigger errors; try removing suspected files and re-running

TurboSoft apps are built with privacy as a core design principle. All file processing happens entirely on your device — your images and documents never leave your machine during conversion, resizing, or renaming.

Your Files Never Leave Your Device

When you load a folder into any TurboSoft app, it reads files directly from your local storage using your operating system's file APIs. Converted or renamed outputs are written back to your local disk only. There is no buffering to remote servers, no cloud caching, and no upload queue — ever.

No Background Scanning or Telemetry

TurboSoft apps only access the folder you explicitly select. They do not scan your hard drive in the background, index files, or access any directory outside the task you initiate. There are no embedded analytics SDKs, no crash-reporting agents, and no silent background network calls during normal operation.

EXIF Metadata & RAW Image Privacy

Some tools read EXIF metadata — for example, Turbo Batch File Rename Tool can use DateTimeOriginal as a filename prefix. This metadata is read locally and used only for the task you requested. For RAW images, GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers, and embedded thumbnails are never transmitted or stored externally at any stage.

Internet Used Only for License Activation

The only network request TurboSoft makes is during the one-time license activation. This request contains only your email address and license key — no file names, image content, folder paths, or personal data. After activation, the app works fully offline with no further network calls.

  • macOS / Linux — Not supported. Windows only.
  • 32-bit Windows — Not supported.

Additional notes:

  • Administrator privileges may be required for first-time activation or installation
  • Sufficient disk space must be available in the output folder for large batch jobs
  • SSD storage is recommended for best batch processing performance
  • 4+ CPU cores recommended for large RAW image collections

How to Get the Latest Version

Updates are delivered through Gumroad. When a new version is released, customers with a valid license can download the updated ZIP from their Gumroad purchase history or from the notification email Gumroad sends.

  • Log in to your Gumroad account and navigate to your purchases
  • Download the latest ZIP from the product page
  • Extract and replace the old version with the new one
  • Your existing license key works with all future updates — no re-purchase needed

Checking Your Current Version

The current app version number is shown in the application title bar or About section. You can compare this against the version number listed on the product page to check if an update is available.

Does Updating Require Re-Activation?

No. Your license is tied to your email and key, not to a specific version. After updating to a new version and launching it for the first time, re-enter your existing email and license key if the activation window appears. Activation completes instantly.

Do Updates Have Privacy Implications?

No. Every version of TurboSoft maintains the same offline-first, no-telemetry architecture. Updates never introduce background network calls, file scanning, or analytics. Your files remain private across all versions.
