Split CSV by Column

A single blended CSV export often needs to become several separate files, each representing one slice of the data defined by a column, whether that's a department, a product category, a status value, or any other field that naturally divides the data into meaningful groups.

Turbo CSV Splitter's Column Value method divides data this way automatically: choose the column, and the app writes one output CSV per distinct value found in that column, whether that's a handful of categories or hundreds of unique customer names.

This automated approach replaces what would otherwise be a manual, repetitive process, filtering the data to one value, saving as a new file, clearing the filter, repeating for the next value, and so on for every distinct value in the column.

Beyond the split itself, column tools let you keep only certain columns, drop others, or rename headers before the division runs, and filters can narrow the source data down first if you only want a subset of rows included in the per-value files.

Every resulting file is a complete, independently valid CSV, header included, containing just the rows that matched one distinct value from your chosen column, ready to open, import, or distribute on its own.

Everything runs offline, entirely on your own Windows PC, so dividing data by column never requires uploading any of it to an external service. Delimiter and encoding both default to Auto and are detected directly from the file itself, so you only need to touch them in the rare case detection gets something wrong, an unusual delimiter or a legacy encoding, for example. 1. Install Turbo CSV Splitter on your Windows PC.
2. Browse to or drag and drop your CSV file.
3. Choose your output folder.
4. Select the Column Value split method.
5. Choose the column to divide by.
6. Apply column tools or filters if needed.
7. Run Preview to confirm the setup.
8. Click Start Split and collect your per-value files.
9. Adjust the parallel worker slider (1-128) if compressing many output parts.
10. Check the status bar for the final row count and file count summary.
